Extolled as America’s “greatest living poet,” by Bob Dylan, legendary singer-songwriter William “Smokey” Robinson, Jr., co-founder of Motown Records, penned several Motown hits including “Who’s Loving You,” “My Guy,” “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” “My Girl,” “Get Ready,” and “Ain’t That Peculiar.” Smokey’s most successful solo album, A Quiet Storm, yielded three hit singles, “Baby That’s Backatcha,” “The Agony & The Ecstasy,” and “Quiet Storm.” His classic hit, “Cruisin’” peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and he topped the charts with “Being with You.” As the frontman for The Miracles, he recorded top ten hits including “You’ve Really Got a Hold ofnMe,” “I Second That Emotion” and “The Tears of a Clown.” In addition, Smokey has received the Grammy® Living Legend Award, the National Medal of Arts Award from the President of the United States, and more.
